Maria gave me an iHome alarm clock for Christmas, and it's awesome. It's an ipod speaker dock/clock/radio. It sounds really great, and it's awesome to wake up to music again. I keep my iPod on shuffle play.Today, I woke up to "From a Whisper to a Scream" - a very underrated rocker from Trust, Elvis' very underrated fifth album. It features guest vocals from Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, and of course features the superb rhythm section of the Attractions (I'll be damned if Bruce Thomas isn't one of my absolute favorite rock bass players).
It was stuck in my head all day long, making it an easy choice for Song of the Day.

This has long been one of my favorite all time songs. I am an avid Squeeze/Glenn Tilbrook fan, so I added this to my collection when it was released in the early 80s, and it is a regularly played track on my iPod now. The grittiness of Elvis Costello with the clear tenor of Glenn Tilbrook make me wish they had done a few more duets.
